Required Tools & Fluids 🔧
- Brake cleaner (Crucial!) 💨
- Brake Fluid DOT4/5.1 🧪
- Clear Tube & Bleeding Bottle
- Piston Tool (Must rotate for rear!)
- Jack + Safety Stands (Jack Stands) ⚠️
1. Lifting & EPB Setup
👉 Lift car and PLACE STANDS. ✅ REAR (Electric/EPB): USE VCDS to 'Open Rear Parking Brake'. ❌ NEVER push EPB pistons manually! ⚠️
2. Cleaning & Disc Prep 🧹
👉 Scrub the hub with a wire brush until SHINY. ✅ Spray NEW DISCS with Brake cleaner. ❌ Oil on discs will ruin the pads! ✅
3. Piston & Pad Install
👉 Push/Rotate piston back. ✅ Apply ceramic grease to pad contact points. ❌ Do NOT get grease on the disc surface! ⚠️ Install caliper.
4. Bleeding (Removing Air) 🧪
👉 Order: Rear-R -> Rear-L -> Front-R -> Front-L. ✅ Use clear tube. One person pumps the pedal and HOLDS, the other opens the valve. ❌ Repeat until NO BUBBLES remain! ⚠️ Keep reservoir FULL.
5. Final Safety Pump
👉 Pump the pedal 10 times until FIRM. ✅ If it's soft, go back to Step 4. ❌ NEVER drive if the pedal is spongy! ✅ Check fluid level.
